The Women's and Children's Department is extremely busy and also includes Community Paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology. Due to the success of their current apprentice they are now in a position to offer an opportunity for an organised and self-motivated person to learn the skills required to support the administration function of this diverse department.

You will be supported within your workplace by a mentor and you will also receive regular visits from you college specialist to enable you to complete a Business and Administration qualification at Level 2.

  • Provide basic general office duties such as photocopying, scanning and filing and sorting post.
  • Locate and file case notes. This includes transporting the files in a safe and secure way and prompt tracking in and out to maintain accuracy.
  • Preparing clinical records for Outpatient appointments.
  • Ensure the security and confidentiality of all data handled, including the safe keeping of all records. To maintain the confidentiality at all time and ensure the use such information is only as authorised for specific purposes.
  • Deal promptly and effectively with telephone queries.
  • Maintain competences that are attributable to Business Administration Level 2.
  • Undertake any relevant in-house qualifications that are appropriate.
  • To undertake any other duties which may be reasonably regarded as within the nature of duties, responsibilities and grade of the post as defined, subject to the provision that appropriate training is given.
  • Assist in maintaining own and others health, safety and security.

Applicants will be required to attend an Assessment Centre with Vision Apprentices as part of the screening process.
