You're Hired! Rail Freight Apprentices sought for DB Schenker Rail
DB Schenker Rail (UK) Ltd is seeking 13 management apprentices from across the UK to train to become operational and engineering rail freight leaders of the future.
Aligned to national priorities to encourage modal shift from road to rail, DB Schenker Rail’s growth plans in the UK will be delivered by the rail freight leaders trained through this apprenticeship scheme.
A full training programme will be provided for successful applicants, lasting two years for assistant production manager apprenticeships and three years for operational management trainee apprenticeships and engineering management apprenticeships.
On the job experience and attendance of training programmes at West Nottinghamshire College’s Engineering Training Centre will form part of the apprenticeship, with costs of attending college met by DB Schenker Rail.
At the end of the training programme, the apprentices will become permanently employed as managers, starting their successful careers at DB Schenker Rail.
Supported by the Government's National Apprenticeship Scheme, applications can come from any age group.
The locations where apprentices are sought for are: Bescot, Eastleigh, Ipswich, Leicester, Margam, Newport, Saltley, Scunthorpe, Stoke, Toton, Warrington and Wigan.
Starting salaries vary according to the role, operational management trainee is £12k rising to £15k in year two and £23k in year three, £20k for engineering management apprentices £20k and for assistant production manager apprentices £25+K.
